Biography

Benton, of Atlanta, Georgia, comes to the Oilers from the Iowa Barnstormers, where he recorded 18 solo tackles, 24 tackles, one pass breakup and an interception in seven games. 
 
Prior to his professional career, the physical defensive back appeared in 40 games for East Carolina University, playing cornerback, nickel back and safety with the Pirates. Benton finished his ECU career with seven passes defended, two interceptions, a forced fumble and 79 total tackles. One of Benton’s two interceptions was returned 32 yards for a touchdown.
