TULSA UNABLE TO KEEP PACE AGAINST PIRATES

Oilers drop their final road game of the season.

Tulsa, Okla. — Tulsa Oilers Football, proud member of the IFL, are unable to upset the Pirates on the road in Massachusetts, falling by a final of 43-24. 

The Pirates opened the game's scoring with the first two touchdowns, gaining a 14-0 lead. The Oilers entered the scene via a 3-yard touchdown catch by Alexis Rosario to help make the deficit 14-6 with 0:24 left in the first quarter.

 The Pirates continued scoring, on a 4-yard catch from Isaac Zico to make it 20-6 Pirates with 8:37 left in the half. Rosario for the Oilers, made an impression again with his second touchdown of the day, showing off his athleticism with a leaping one-handed catch over the wall in the back of the end zone to make it  20-12 Massachusetts after his 2-yard score with 4:44 remaining in the second. Alejandro Bennifield entered the game for the Pirates at quarterback, he began his day with an 11-yard rushing touchdown with 2:44 left in the half to push the Massachusetts lead to 27-12. Joshua Crockett for Tulsa answered with a 14-yard touchdown catch in the end zone on a one-on-one battle to make the game a 27-18 deficit for the Oilers to deal with. The Pirates ended the first half scoring via a Zico 8-yard catch that stretched into the end zone with 0:04 left in the second quarter to end two frames with a 34-18 Pirates advantage. 

The third quarter ended with no additional scoring as the first score of the second half came thanks to Rosario for Tulsa, rounding out his third touchdown of the game via a 12-yard catch in the end zone to make the game 34-24 with 7:28 left in the game. The Pirates responded immediately on the following drive with a 25-yard rushing score for Jimmie Robinson with just 5:52 left in the final frame. The Pirates added a field goal to end the night's scoring to bring the final result to 43-24 in favor of Massachusetts. 

The Oilers are at home next, July 1, to take on the Green Bay Blizzard at the BOK Center, kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m. CT.
