Tulsa, Okla. — Tulsa Oilers Football, proud member of the IFL, announces the addition of defensive lineman Ikenna Ahumibe (ee-KEN-uh ah-WHO-me-bay).
Ahumibe, enters the professional scene, having played most recently with Missouri State University for three seasons. The 6'0, 295 lbs. frontline presence recorded 28 games played, having put up two sacks, including dealing said damage in the Sooner State against Spencer Rattler and the Oklahoma Sooners. The new Tulsa Oiler made 78 total tackles, along with a pass deflection, fumble recovery, and one blocked kick. The former Bear displayed 5.5 tackles for loss and has played in BIG 12 and SEC environments.
"Ahumibe is a young player that has a lot of potential," said head coach Marvin Jones. "He plays with good energy, and it will be interesting to see what he can do this upcoming season."
The Cerritos, Calif. native began his college career at Cerritos College where he managed to supply 50 tackles for the Falcons with 2.5 sacks and a season-high 10 stops against El Camino College.
Tulsa will see its second season begin in 2024.
