Tulsa, Okla. — Tulsa Oilers Football, proud member of the IFL, in conjunction with the IFL, announced on Monday that both Owner Andy Scurto and General Manager Taylor Hall have won the "Executive of the Year Award" for the 2023 season. 

From the IFL: "This award is given to the IFL Team Owner, General Manager, or Front Office Employee that performed the best during the 2023 season. Factors to consider are management, team guidance, participation in league matters, sales, leadership, efforts to improve the IFL, and overall representation of their respective team and the IFL."

 Scurto introduced the brand-new football franchise to the public just over one year ago. At a press conference held in July of 2022 with Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum, the Oilers owner and IFL commissioner Todd Tryon confirmed the IFL's newest franchise was coming to Tulsa. 
"I am thrilled to be bringing an IFL team to Tulsa and the BOK Center," said Scurto during his address to the public. "This addition will continue the commitment from myself and the Tulsa Oilers to bring great quality entertainment to the Tulsa area, and this will allow us to stay engaged with our incredible fan base year round. Indoor Football is fast paced and full of action and I know our fans will love the game."
Todd Tryon is the current commissioner of the IFL, serving in the role since Oct. 10, 2019. Tryon has inside-out knowledge of every aspect of indoor football, serving as a player, a coach and a team owner in his more than 20 years of indoor football experience.
"Tulsa fits all three areas we look for in a new franchise," said IFL commissioner Todd Tryon. "Location, venue and ownership. Andy and his team love the city of Tulsa, which has been pretty evident through our vetting process.  The IFL got better today with this partnership, and we are more than excited to bring our fast break football to the great city of Tulsa, Oklahoma."
Scurto's investment and leadership are not contained exclusively to his IFL success. The California native turned Tulsan also owns the Tulsa Oilers hockey team in the ECHL and purchased the lone ice rink in Tulsa in May of 2022, immediately investing in the infrastructure and amenities to aid the growth of youth ice sports in the region. Improvements include new floors, an improved ceiling, new bathrooms, showers, updated locker rooms, and a lounge with a wide selection of food and beverage. Along with improvements to the building itself, several new programs are being offered, including a women's adult league, adult learn to play, and the inaugural Tulsa Oilers Learn to Play Program for kids.
 
With increased demand and traffic at the Oilers Ice Center, the Oilers announced the construction of the WeStreet Ice Center in Tulsa, bringing two more sheets to Tulsa and a new headquarters for Oilers' operations. Formerly a Macy's Department store, the Ice Center measures 140,000 square feet and will also feature a spectator area, a restaurant, game simulators and more. Construction is expected to be completed on schedule in late 2023.
 
 Hall, entered his first season of football experience as General Manager and has completed 15 seasons as the General Manager of the Tulsa Oilers hockey team. The dual sports GM oversees all day-to-day operations of the Oilers' front office. From forming partnerships with local businesses to increasing attendance and ensuring a memorable fan experience, Hall is involved in every aspect of the Oilers franchise. With his infectious enthusiasm for the game of hockey, Hall has played an integral role in expanding the Oilers' fan base and increasing the visibility of the team in the community. Tulsa averaged more than 7,000 fans in attendance in its first season, being a part of the IFL. A native of Regina, Saskatchewan, Hall formed a deep connection to the Oilers hockey team as a player-assistant coach during Tulsa's run to the Central Hockey League championship in 1993. In addition to playing for the Oilers, Hall's 12-year professional career in hockey included time with the NHL's Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins. Hall retired from the Oilers hockey team in 1996 and spent five seasons as a Head Coach in the CHL. Hall has now added to his legacy in the football realm in conjunction with the front office staff. 
 
 Tulsa will see its second season begin in 2024.
