Tulsa, Okla. — Tulsa Oilers Football, a proud member of the IFL and powered by Community Care, announce the addition of the 2023 IFL MVP, quarterback TJ Edwards, as season three for the franchise approaches.
Edwards, spent the last three seasons with the Frisco Fighters of the IFL, compiling 5,750 passing yards and 103 passing touchdowns. Over those three seasons, the new Oilers QB recorded 2,383 rushing yards and 112 rushing scores. During that span, the Garland, Texas native earned the status of league MVP in 2023 with a season that saw him put up 2,600 passing yards with a 63.2% completion rating with 39 passing touchdowns, as well as 853 rushing yards for an average of 4.6 yards per carry and 49 rushing scores.
The 6'0, 210 lbs. offensive piece began his IFL career with the Arizona Rattlers, playing three games.
The former IFL MVP played his college football at Southwestern Baptist University, throwing for 8,276 yards and rushing for 1,444 all while scoring 100 touchdowns.
