LARRY WILLIAMS SIGNS IN XFL

Oilers Football signee makes jump to Las Vegas Vipers.

Tulsa, Okla. — Tulsa Oilers Football, proud member of the IFL, announced Wednesday that offensive lineman Larry Williams has joined the Las Vegas Vipers of the XFL while still retaining his IFL rights.

Williams (27), a former signee with the Green Bay Packers and current Tulsa Oiler, signs a deal with the Las Vegas Vipers of the XFL in January 2023.

Prior to signing with Tulsa, and his time in Green Bay, the 6'5, 330 lbs. offensive lineman was a standout guard at Oklahoma State University, where he played three seasons from 2016-2018, helping the Cowboys finish second in the Big 12 in total rushing yards and rushing yards per game in his final season.

The Wilmington, North Carolina native initially began his college career at East Carolina University, contributing on special teams before transferring to Hutchinson Community College. The former Blue Dragon started 11 games, earning first-team NJCAA All-American and first-team KJCCC All-Conference. The former NJCAA lineman helped lead his team to be ranked eighth nationally in rushing yards per game, a staggering 244.8 yards in the 2015 season.

The XFL and the Indoor Football League (IFL) announced on October 12, 2022, a wide-ranging player personnel partnership. The partnership provides the framework for transferring players between leagues and the opportunity for players released from XFL teams to be transferred to IFL squads. The two leagues will also work together in scheduling joint tryouts and sharing video and game films.
